Learning a language is a lot of fun, but it takes a lot of practice to learn!
Homework should be completed before arriving to class, and be on your desk
before the bell rings for credit. Each homework assignment will be worth different amounts. Although I might not remind
you every day reviewing vocabulary nightly is highly recommended.
Academic Integrity: I expect you to do your own work. Failure to
do so will result in a referral, and phone call home. You will be asked to write in Spanish throughout the year and I ask
that you create authentic work. Using a translating tool will not suffice. The school’s Academic Integrity Policy
can be found on school website.
Electronics: I know you all want to text your friends about how much
fun you’re having in Señora Martín’s Spanish class, but save it for after class. There will be times
when you will be allowed to use your electronic devices, but you must have approval from me, and use them in a responsible
manner.
Classmates: If you are absent contact a classmate to get missing
homework or classwork.
Tests and Quizzes: You will have both vocabulary and grammar quizzes
as we work through the chapters (see your dates). Test will be given at the end of each chapter (about 13 days). Chapter tests
include grammar, vocabulary, culture and listening questions.
Weighted grades: weighted by percentages in categories – listening,
reading, writing and speaking.
Grade Posting: Grades will be posted on NEO. You will need to enroll
in the class, there is no enrollment code. I will try my best to keep grades up to date regularly. You will be graded on the
following items:
- Reading
- Writing
- Listening
- Speaking
Grading scale: 90-100% A, 80-89% B, 70-79% C, 60-69% D
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to talk to me. I want to help you!
